Icahn Meeting Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s CEO Tim Cook on Monday, Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) Unveiling Treasure Tag
According to CNBC, activist investor Carl Icahn is going to meet Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO Tim Cook on 30th September to discuss the company’s stock buyback plans and other issues including the possibility of adding to his sizable stake in the technology giant who recently purchased around $1-2 billion in Apple stock.
In March 2012, Apple announced a stock dividend and buyback program to enhance shareholder return as the company’s cash and investment holdings have rapidly developed in recent years. Apple increased and accelerated the stock buyback program earlier this year, issuing debt to take advantage of a drop in the company’s stock price.
Icahn believes that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) have to accelerate its buyback plans even further considering it a practical move to improve the company’s financial position. Before Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) officially announced Lumia that is due to be held in Abu Dhabi in October 22, and despite it being just a month away, there is even more speculation about a new accessory, allegedly called the Treasure Tag.
An image of the new Treasure Tag accessory has been leaked on Twitter by prolific phone tipster, @evleaks. Earlier, it was reported that in the upcoming event of Nokia, six new devices are expected to unveil with a variety of new accessories out of which one would be ‘pretty special’.
The leaked image of the expected Treasure Tag accessory seems real and also proving the earlier reports that claimed Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) was working hard on a proximity sensor accessory under the same name for its Lumia phones that would allow users to track items through an app.
The device has specialty to stay ‘always on’ and it will have a battery that will last six months. The rumored Treasure Tag is said to work with Bluetooth 4.0 and Bluetooth Low Energy standards. Recently, Nokia teased its forthcoming announcement and confirmed the location of the event to be Nokia World, Abu Dhabi. The Finnish manufacturer is expected to launch two new Lumia devices, the Nokia 1520 phablet and the Nokia Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet, along with four new devices.
